All Kindergarten parents have received their child’s first progress report. This report reflects both our curriculum here at Maple and the Maryland State curriculum standards that we adhere to. We suggest you bring your child’s progress report and any questions you have to your parent conference appointment on Monday, December 10th . We are looking forward to meeting with you and sharing your child’s progress.

Our class is off to a great start. With the first term behind us, we have learned how to be responsible, trustworthy and good school citizens. We have had the opportunity to go
on an all day field trip, where we were praised for being one of the best classes the Talbot County librarian had ever worked with. We have also had several guests come visit our classroom to share their knowledge with us. Our guests were impressed with our behavior.
We have been doing a great deal in our classroom. We have learned several letters, the sound each makes, and how to form the letters correctly. So far this year, we have read 89 books. We have been learning the numbers 0—10 and ordinal words (first through fifth). We have a word wall in our room that we go over often and some of us can read the words without the pictures. We are learning words that rhyme, how to break words into syllables (parts) and how to blend syllables to make words. We have learned about our school, community, and senses. Now we are learning about the four seasons. As you can see, we are busy, busy, busy!!!
Parents, please continue to support your child by helping him/her complete and
