Fifth graders are very busy in Science exploring electricity. They are building circuits and know the difference between parallel and series circuits now. In Math they have moved on from fractions and are presently doing probability experiments and building tree diagrams. If your child has not passed multiplication facts, please have them practice these facts every night at home.

In reading, fifth grade has just taken the Theme Three benchmark and we are reading the story, Mom’s Best Friend. As usual there is a vocabulary word list to learn. Please encourage as much reading at home as possible. Every page read makes a difference.

The DARE program has started under the supervision of Cpl. Patton of Cambridge Police. The students seem to be very engaged in the important things he is teaching about resisting drugs and alcohol.
MSA in reading and math is fast approaching. This is a good time to start reviewing skills taught earlier in the year.
