The next music performances will be the Maple band performing in May.  All-County Band is scheduled for May 1st at CSDHS involving both first and second year bands from all elementary schools.
The Maple band will perform on May 8th here at Maple, following the Student of the Week awards.
On May 23rd all 4th and 5th graders will present the program, “Together,” for their DARE Graduation Concert.
Thanks to all the kindergarten, first grade and specialist Maple staff for a job well done on February 19th.  Thanks to the students for a fine job performing.  And a special thanks to all the parents, friends and families who attended the postponed performance.  You were one of the best audiences we’ve ever had at Maple.  Thanks for your wonderful support!

Being involved in your children’s education helps them do well in school and improves the quality of your school. Here are some suggestions on how to get started. Find the time to get involved—it makes a difference!
    1. Let your child know that school is important. Be sure to ask questions about
home work, and set up a quiet place for your child to work.
    2. Read everything that is sent home from school: report cards, homework assign-
ments, agendas, school lunch plans, newsletters and school delays. Show your
child that you are well informed.
    3. Get to know your child’s teachers and school administration by attending school
        meetings and parent-teacher conferences.
    4. Volunteer to help out with school activities. Help out with fundraisers or volunteer
         in your child’s classroom.

Students have been working hard in art! Fifteen of our students’ artworks are in a community art show at the Academy Art Museum in Easton until March 21. The show is free and open to the public. Please show your support and see our beautiful art in this show. It is truly a wonderful opportunity showcasing our artistic accomplishments.
Students have also been working on 3 Dimensional design. Kindergarten through third grades have been exploring outer space while creating space shuttles, alien “pop” art, and creative drawings of space. Second grade has been making masks and working on collage. Fourth and fifth grades are studying African American artist Aaron Douglas while creating monochromatic paintings. It is easy to see how hard the students have been working on their art!
