READ-A-THON 2008

Maple wins by a score of 7-0!!

 

 

Our students and staff hit grand slams at each of our 7 stations throughout the day!! Special thanks to our guest readers, Sherman the Shorebird, CSD Varsity Softball and Baseball players, and the many parents and volunteers who came out to provide assistance with crafts, etc.  The Maple family exhibited an extreme amount of school spirit by their amazing efforts to dress up with Black and Orange clothing! You could tell everyone was motivated for a fun and successful day centered around reading! Great Job Everyone!

Additionally a special thanks goes out to Joe Corbi’s Wholesale Pizza. They congratulated Mrs. Eberspacher and our school (for her special recognition as a finalist for Maryland State Teacher of the Year 2007-2008), by giving a Pizza Party for the entire student body and staff! We are very proud of her achievement and Joe Corbi’s was honored to be able to help is this celebration. We were able to tie in this pizza party with the “Bleachers” station that students traveled to. It was here that they entered Maple Stadium using the books as their tickets for their seat. Of course they carried out baseball’s traditional 7^th inning stretch, (where we were able to award the 2 most spirited “fans of the game”). Read-a-thon 2008 was a day enjoyed by all, and a glimpse of what is yet to come for Maple students and their strides with reading!
